They won the crown twice and revive it all the time...They line up to have their picture taken with the glory statue. It’s fun to watch or participate. more »
A bit eerie on our private tour of Maracana Stadium. A private bus tour so we were the only ones there. Walked down the entry where the athletes go. Apparently Maradona the soccer hero had been there.... more »
A fantastic place to visit. We have been in a museum and on tour, but nothing compares with attending a live match. Be sure to buy a ticket online or in advance, buy a local team shirt and cheer with all other fans. The crowd is lovely, they helped us buy tickets, understand how to buy drinks. The atmosphere is incredible, you are cheering with more than 60k people for 90 minutes of a match.
Skip the tour of the stadium. There's little to no information and it's very expensive. When we came here there was a concert the next day and because of that we couldn't see the grass. An (English) guide, which they say they provide every hour, was also not there. No communication (in English or Spanish) at all. Only after purchasing the tickets they told us in Portuguese that the grass wasnt visible. But hey, we already paid 110 BRL. Very disappointing. There are better stadium (tours) in the world. Can imagine the hype for Brazilians to see their great stadium, but for foreigners I think it's not really interesting.
