A heaven for anyone into wind-based sports, Shark Bay remains one of Cape Verde's top kitesurfing spots. The area offers no tourist amenities, so it's a good idea to bring plenty of drinking water and snacks if you plant to spend the day here. Several local outfits provide organized transport to the beach, located about a 10-minute drive from Santa Maria.   • We headed out to Shark bay early with our water shoes (you can hire them for a couple of Euros), we had to wade ou over very rocky stoney ground but it was so worth it. We had lots of baby & juvenile....  more »
  • This was my best experience there and it is really exciting to see the sharks so near. Highly recommended  more »
  • First they said flip flops won't be enough to walk in the waters because of corals, but they just wanted to rent their shoes to you (which were terrible by the way). I think flips flops would've been better because of hard bottoms they have. Otherwise, the baby sharks were pretty cool!
  • Great attraction close to Espargos. Don't expect to see a lot- just a good time to watch the baby shark (they don't bite). You should budget about 3-5 Euros and come in your swim wear.
