  • The museum is located in a beautiful property, residence of the sculptor, now A Museum. This superb home in a wooded park facing the Adriatic contains a very large number of his sculptures, the various paintings and works that Mestrovic had collected (in the order of 200 sculptures and 500 works) The works are powerful, we feel the " Rodin's paw" The paintings are very interesting, various eras. Note a superb collection of caricatures. Two floors of marble and bronze sculptures and beautiful works. A few minutes' walk, on the seaside, Mestrovic has created a chapel. You enter through a large courtyard where a huge sculpture sits. Easy to visit, airy, calm, a little forgotten by the traditional circuits apparently. Palace-museum, monumental, art deco style, at the top of a huge staircase, in a setting of Mediterranean greenery facing the sea, is well worth the trip during the stay. It is close to Split, 15'-20' by bus or taxi.

  • Unsure if tickets are required by we walked in just like many others did before us. The place has some nice statues and great photo opportunities. We never entered the actual museum but the vibe was friendly and relaxed. It is a bit small and not alot to see
  • Astonishing! Definitely a place you should visit! One of the most talented and prolific Croatian artist's home turned into this huge, very well organized museum near the seashore. It was wonderful (re)living Mestrovic's most crucial moments and emotions through his beautiful sculptures guided by the well written museum broucher. Not much of a fan of sculptures in general due to being hard to make them expressive, this guy's work made me fall in love with it.
