Founded in the seventh century, Eglise St-Germain l'Auxerrois is famous for its bell, Marie, which sounded on Aug. 23, 1572, marking the beginning of the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre. That day, a mob killed thousands of Huguenots, or French Protestants, visiting the city for a royal wedding. Despite its gory history, this church offers many beautiful things to see, including a 15th-century wooden statue of St. Germain, a stone statue of St. Vincent sculpted about the same time, a wooden Flemish altarpiece, and the famous church wardens pew, where important people sat. Beautiful church next to the Louvre with free entry. The inside is absolutely stunning rich in history. The statues, the stained glass and the altar were very beautiful and worth the visit. Recommend visiting if you have time.

This Roman Catholic Church is one of the many churches you'll find in Paris, it is closer to the Louvre Museum, the tower is impressive, the church has stained glass and a rose window, there are wooden statues , and the Flemish altarpiece is just amazing. This one is worth visiting too. This place is next to the city hall of the district of Paris.
