Tours to Marche St. Germain
Marche St. Germain reviews
The French really do know how to do fresh markets, (and not just for tourists), this one was like walking in a posh deli indeed - in fact - there was a veritable cornucopia of exotic fruit... more »
This market is exactly the reason I'm so jealous of how folks in Europe shop for their dinners. Supermarkets are not huge and mediocre. They are Super Markets. Just great. Marche St. Germain is just..... more »
Never go to this market, I was short charged and treated terribly there today. It was the end of the working day and market was almost empty (Sunday). My friend and I wanted to buy cornichones in a glass jar from a man in the end of the market (big tall man, brunette). I gave a man 50 euros, he gave me a change 4 euros and 5 cents because they were 5,95. I told him he gave me wrong change, he smiled and started to insist that I gave him 10 not 50. I saw he was lying, basically he just laugh us in the face. My friend saw how much I gave him as well as another seller (he looked asian) - he said I can’t help you. Obviously because we were 2 girls tourists and we couldn’t protect ourselves they did that to us. Man seller said: “ok, you don’t want cornichones, take your money back”. He gave me “mine” 10 euros and didn’t even ask for the change he gave me already before which is obviously the sign he intentionally shorted me and lied and probably did that before to other people. I felt terribly disappointed and shocked, I didn’t know how to react, if I should’ve called the police or ask people for help - there was no one in that corner. I should’ve took a photo of that big man to help other people to avoid such experience but I was devastated. We had to leave because we couldn’t do anything. I hope those 35 euros won’t bring him happiness. Please, ignore this place at all cost, be aware of criminals in the heart of Paris, because no one deserves to be treated like I was.
Except for the prices everything here is to love. Amazing top quality selection.
