  • The herodeion is a space that should any Greek who may, to the visit. This year we visited him twice for Madame Mpatterflaϊ and the ascetic. The only small themataki that occurs is the comfort after a long sight and the bluntness of ascent or descent (which of course cannot be changed). Worth at least a visit anyway.

  • This beautiful ancient theatre is an amazing venue to watch a theatre or dance performance or even music. The location is everything. Look up to see the Parthenon and the temple of Apteros Niki. The deep amphitheatre has heavily reconstructed marble seating, which isn't super comfortable even with the cushions provided. Only a very limited number of rows offer back support and the upper section is come as you go unnumbered seating, so arrive early in comfortable shoes. The acoustics are amazing and audiences enthusiastic, so it caan be very special indeed.
  • one of the most beautiful ancient theaters in Greece. Fantastic atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit to see/hear a play /concert.
  • I know it’s technically Roman (or Eastern Roman) but I would consider this a must see. We were able to catch a rehearsal for opera, try around 7-8 PM when we did, the acoustics are incredible and much remains or was restored from the original Odeon. We went by to see it twice already in one day
  • If you get an opportunity to see a performance while visiting Athens, it’s an amazing experience to visit the theatre! We thought it was amazing and would loved to have seen another performance.
  • A large and well restored theatre that is still used for shows. One of the better amphitheaters in Greece but probably not appreciated being in the “shadow” of the famous Parthenon.
