We visited here based on a recommendation from the sommelier at our hotel. It's a lovely small winery, in the same family for 3 generations and operating in this way for a decade. There's an outside..... more »
I'm a little torn here, the wines where excellent. If you love wine this is a must visit. The place was also very nice, the tasting itself wasn't great unfortunately. Person who gave the tasting could not crack a smile and just had a vibe of being there because she HAD to be there rather than wanted to be there. Coming from a wine country and having been to many many wine farms all over the world I can honestly say there's nothing better than going to a wine farm where the staff are clearly passionate about the product. Sadly this wasn't the case here. I'd recommend the wine definitely, but the experience itself was a bit of a let down (especially if you compare it with the exceptional couple at Goumas Winery further north on the island). I also feel that there could be a bit more flexibility in terms of the tasting format, not everyone want a full plate of snacks with the wine. This should be optional. Or at the very least, if you like wine, you know wine and you literally only want to taste one specific wine in particular (and obviously happy to pay for that) just make it happen (especially if the wine is on the tasting menu and already open). It's not such a big shift. Don't then force the person to have the full tasting of whatever tasting option included that wine, with its snacks etc. A little flexibility every now and again goes a long way.. so does a smile.
It’s a nice place. The garden is very cute and refreshing. The tour is not so good, very quick and you don’t get to see a lot of the process. The wine tasting is starting from 5 euro per person (4 wines) and is good, it comes wit good food and the wine is good.
