Trip Planner: Europe / Greece / South Aegean / Cyclades / Mykonos / Mykonos Town / Aegean Maritime Museum
Established to preserve and present Greek maritime history, Aegean Maritime Museum occupies a 19th-century building in the center of Mykonos Town. Ancient navigational instruments, model ships, and antique maps tell the story of the country's nautical past, transporting visitors to a time when Greek sailors explored and conquered distant corners of the world. Outside, a small museum garden displays larger artifacts, including reproductions of marble gravestones of sailors lost at sea. A large lighthouse also stands here, reminding visitors of the importance such structures held long before the invention of satellite navigation systems. Put Aegean Maritime Museum into our Mykonos Town tour itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

For him it is worth to give these 4 E.
We had a tour here as part of a cruise excursion and it was quite interesting. It was very small, so our group had to take turns looking as we made our way through. There is a lot of history here, so ... more »
Hello without any indication
I liked it very much. It's for a half-hour ride. I think it is more for the Greeks than for tourists, because it exhibits mainly historical relics and small objects of which one must know the history to appreciate. And do not miss to see the (full) lighthouse out in the garden! One deserves to go just for him. The ticket I remember seemed very reasonable, and the space is very very pleasant.
