OBA Library of Amsterdam, Amsterdam
The largest of the capital city's public libraries, OBA Library of Amsterdam offers several floors of books and exhibits to explore. Though it may seem mundane to visit a library, the beautiful architecture, cafe, and other features available to the public make this one particularly noteworthy. View the two radio stations housed in this building, as well as the library's youth department, which boasts the famous Muizenhuis, a handmade dollhouse for mice built by artist Karina Schaapman. The impressive building was designed by Jo Coenen and houses nearly 2 million books. It frequently features visiting exhibits on art, literature, or design. OBA Library of Amsterdam Reviews
The library has seven floors, a cafe, a restaurant, a theater, plenty of seating and computers... great way to spend a rainy day. more »
Genoeg plekken en ruimte om te studeren in alle rust. Daarnaast ook goed bereikbaar. Ik heb hier vele tentamens met succes voorbereid en daarom is dit voor mij een speciaal plekje more »Enough places and space to study in peace. Also easy to reach. I have successfully prepared many exams here and that is why this is a special place for me
Interesting building, many different books, English as well, nice children zone. The view was not as amazing as expected, but in common I’m very impressed. 5 stars and strongly recommended!
I'm really surprised reading opinions... 5* because of restaurant and coffee...is it this, what a library should be? Maybe it's comfortable for people who have library card, but not for someone who is in Amsterdam few days and wants to read something new... Big disappointment for me (although coffee and view is really nice).
