Leaning out over the ocean, Cliffs of Moher represent the rugged side of coastal Ireland. The imposing cliffs rise more than 200 m (700 ft) above the Atlantic and consist mainly of shale and sandstone. More than 30,000 birds live on this rocky part of the coastline, and nearly 1 million people come to visit each year. Begin your adventure at the visitor center, featuring exhibits about the natural and historical significance of these cliffs. To observe puffins and hawks nesting in this area, bring binoculars and hike along a well-posted trail to the highest point of the cliffs, where you'll find a historical tower built in 1835. It can get windy and cold here, so dress appropriately. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Cliffs of Moher by using our Liscannor driving holiday planner.

This landscape isn't like anything I've seen. The coast line stops with an 800 foot drop. It's incredible - A must see! more »

The most beautiful place I've ever seen. That says a lot considering I've literally travelled the world. If you're into photography this is heaven on earth!! Highly recommend. Even if you're in Dublin you can drive here in 1 day. Definitely worth it, wouldn't trade the sight for the world. The pure beauty is spread all throughout Ireland, but this is the show stopper.

As our first stop on our trip, my wife was impressed by the rugged, but beautiful nonetheless scenery. The paths are great for skirting the views, and the incredible wind gusts are a hit with just about everyone I saw there. Well worth the time, and although I didn't have a camera to speak of, it's still plenty enough for phone pictures.
