Walk across one of Florence's oldest and most iconic landmarks, Ponte Vecchio. Spanning the Arno river in the heart of the city, the 14th-century bridge features a wide, three-arch design supporting a series of historic shop fronts. Stroll the bridge's thoroughfare to peruse shops or see street performances. Visit the secret Vasari Corridor that stretches across the bridge to connect two Renaissance palaces. Antique jewelry enthusiasts may want to keep an eye out for the area's gold and silversmith shops. Ponte Vecchio Reviews
Although this bridge is historic and so well known and therefore is a must to see I found it very diappointing. It really if filled with overpriced jewellery shops and is very crowded. more »
Il ponte è pieno di negozi che vendono oro, da quelli in cui è possibile trovare monili di minor valore, a quelli in cui invece si possono comprare orologi di grande prestigio e dal prezzo altissimo. ... more »The bridge is full of shops selling gold, from those where you can find lower-value jewelry, to those where you can buy watches of great prestige and very high price. Beyond the very beautiful windows, the wonderful panorama of the Arno that flows at its feet must be admired
Ponte Vecchio bridge is a pedestrian walkway with jewelry shops on both sides. The bridge itself is not long with gaps between some stores to allow for a breathtaking view of the river below and the roads running along both sides. Overall a great experience especially since you don't have to plan to visit this location - you'd just path through it when you're out for a walk and then realize its purpose.
Interesting bridge with a surreal number of tourists! I personally prefer the other ones (less crowded and easier access), but this one is really interesting. Have never seen building on top of bridges before.
