Walk across one of Florence's oldest and most iconic landmarks, Ponte Vecchio. Spanning the Arno river in the heart of the city, the 14th-century bridge features a wide, three-arch design supporting a series of historic shop fronts. Stroll the bridge's thoroughfare to peruse shops or see street performances. Visit the secret Vasari Corridor that stretches across the bridge to connect two Renaissance palaces. Antique jewelry enthusiasts may want to keep an eye out for the area's gold and silversmith shops. • It's beautiful, small houses (shops) on the bridge, but it is done in 5 minutes, and unless you want to buy jewelry, you spend not more than 10 minutes...

  • Symbol of the city, crossing the River Arno. Consists of three segmental arch passes, flanked by two rows of goldsmiths. Originally the workshops were of butchers and greengrocers because so they could unload their rubbish into the Arno. Always very busy. On feast days you can't hardly walk. In the middle of the bridge there are two terraces.

  • You have to see this bridge yourself to appreciate it. Try to be there away from holiday time when it's not so crowded . Charming but rather expensive jewelry shops all along the bridge but you really go for the view. Originally built in 1218 but rebuilt 1345 it still retains it old charm. Florence is a beautiful city and the Ponte Vecchio is a must see . These pictures are the view from the bridge
