Trip Planner: Europe / Italy / Liguria / Italian Riviera / Genoa / Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi a Nervi
A 2 km (1.2 mi) seafront walkway cut into rocky cliffs, Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi a Nervi offers panoramic views of the sea. Stretching along a rugged part of the coastline, this popular waterfront promenade was built over an ancient footpath, once used almost exclusively by local fishermen and farmers. The promenade was constructed in two stages over the last decades of the 19th century, and is named after Anita Garibaldi, the Brazilian-born wife and comrade-in-arms of revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi. Use this walkway to access a 16th-century tower, once an important part of an extensive coastal defense system, now one of the region’s most recognizable symbols. I believe that few cities in the world can boast such a wide range of possibilities from a landscape point of view. The only neo la Marinella, a dilapidated structure that will hopefully be recovered as soon as possible. Don't miss for visitors to Genoa.

It starts from the port of Nervi and runs, for almost 2 kilometers, to Capolungo, among treasures and monuments that are unparalleled. It starts with the crossing of the Nervi River and immediately you get to the castle, a fortified tower, first headquarters of the association of partisans and now an area dedicated to exhibitions and conventions. when the entrance is open, it is free. Immediately after the castle, a few tens of meters later, the second glimpse on the Porticciolo, or rather as it was called before the "Porticciuolo" ... the gaze spans the entire west coast ... and on particularly clear winter days you can see Cape Apple and France. In Levante you can see the mountain of Portofino with Punta Chiappa, Port Pidocchio, Camogli, Sori and a myriad of beautiful places. Drop one eye down. You will observe the statue to the diver placed on a German House of World War II. First it's a little further down to the station. Also on the promenade, near the Baths Medusa (which as children we called "Herod's baths") you arrive at the Tower of Gropallo, passing in front of the remains of what was a dream in Nervi ... the Marinella, luxury restaurant and hotel with its curvy shape that stood out like a ship on the promenade ... you pass the parks, which, they would take hours to be described and slowly you get to Capulungo. Time seems to stop when you walk ... and the strong smells and flavors You inebriate and conquer you ... Take as much time as you need ... it's really worth it ...
