The fifth-largest cathedral in the world, Duomo di Milano is a marvel of Gothic architecture. Climb up to the roof and enjoy arguably the most spectacular views of the city, visible between the cathedral's Gothic spires. Constructed between 1386 and 1965, this massive church is known for its white marble, hundreds of spires, thousands of statues on its exterior, and a buttressed facade. You can take photos inside the cathedral if you buy a special wristband at the entrance. You can reach the roof, which is open during daylight hours, via elevator or 250 stairs. Make advance reservations if you'd like a guided sunset tour of the spires. Duomo di Milano Reviews
Ho detto tutto nel titolo della recensione. Unica pecca: in qualsiasi momento del giorno c'è sempre molta coda. more »I said it all in the title of the review. Only flaw: At any time of the day there is always a lot of tail.
Impossible d’aller à milan sans voir le dôme. Superbe pièce architecturale, monument très impressionnant. more »Can't go to Milan without seeing the dome. Superb architectural room, very impressive monument.
This is an amazing experience. The massive presence of the building creates awe as you slowly walk towards it from one of the plazas. The view from the top is also incredible. It's an impression I will never forget! Don't forget to visit the inside and the basement!
Nice place with wonderful construction. This cathedral was constructed huge with great precision and quality. Huge doors carry structures of Catholics which are polished in sea green but are made up of brass. Walking on the Cathedral rooftop is exhilarating, and lets you see many things from a different perspective. Place is worth visiting and is at walking distance from Castel, city centre. Visiting here twice during day and after sunset is recommended. Walking the nearby streets for shopping is also recommended.
