Peggy Guggenheim Collection
Peggy Guggenheim Collection features the some of the American heiress' personal collection of modern art, which she began displaying in the 1950s. Guggenheim was married to artist Max Ernst and served as a patron to a few of his contemporaries. The gallery includes works by Picasso, Dali, Pollock, Duchamp, Kandinsky, Tanguy, Mondrian, and others. The property also has a sculpture garden. This impressive collection is housed in an 18th-century palace that served as Guggenheim's private home for nearly 30 years. The museum, on the Grand Canal, attracts nearly half a million art lovers each year. Save time by booking your tickets online well in advance. One of the least inspired collections of modern art we have seen. Not very interesting works, especially from some of the greats. It was like looking at a set of worn 1950s era furniture in someone's.... more »

Such an inspiring person - such a beautiful place and a great legacy! The museum and life story of Peggy Guggenheim are highly unusual and interesting (happy to recommend biographies in the museum shop - available in English, Italian, French and German). The garden is very relaxing place - oasis of greenery and freshness in the busy hot city.

Not worth its admission fee. Nice museum with works of huge artists as Miro, Kandinsky, Picasso, Tapies. Unfortunately its more of a checklist of those well-know names than a well curated exhibition. For 5-10 Euros it would be a nice to see place, but 15 Euros is simply too much - even for Venice.
