Peter and Paul Cathedral, St. Petersburg

At Peter and Paul Cathedral, see the extravagant tombs of almost all the Russian rulers since Peter the Great, who commissioned the church in the beginning of the 18th century. The existing Baroque cathedral was erected on the site of an earlier wooden one. The highlight of the interior is the 18th-century iconostasis constructed by more than 40 Moscow architects under the lead of Ivan Zarudny. For views of the city, climb the tower toward a needlelike spire topped by a flying angel holding a cross. You can still find fresh flowers on the grave of Peter the Great, nearly 300 years after his death. • Yet another Architecture marvel, everything is maintained so well. You just can't miss out these. The interiors dating back from like hundreds of years back were just stunning.
  • Very beautiful place. Definitely worth a visit. But if you're with a baby carage or on a wheelchair it may cause some unpleasant moments of riding on a cobblestone yard. There are paths and ramps that pretend to be useful but what are you going to do if in the middle of the path there is a porch of some building... Still have to turn and have these moments (less than you'd have if you'd go without using paths)
