The Tiapapata Art Centre was first established in Samoa in 1989 and is registered with the Government of Samoa as a Charitable Trust. It's Patron is His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Ta’isi, Head of State of Samoa.

The underlying principles of the Tiapapata Art Centre are:

That all people have a right to express themselves creatively and should be encouraged to learn about and develop their creativity;

That people with limited access to creating arts and crafts should be provided with opportunities to explore and enjoy these activities. Barriers restricting access to arts and crafts should be removed;

That creativity conduces to wellbeing; and

That arts and crafts enrich society.

  • This establishment run by Wendy and Steve is by far one of the worlds best kept vegan food secrets. The only truly vegan restaurant that I’ve been to that is similarly passionate about vegan dishes...  more »

  • Food and drinks are first rate here. Lots of room for the kids to explore. Great view and setting, the owners are very friendly. Lovely art on exhibit with items available for purchase. Their homemade ice cream flavors using local fruits are delicious. Great place to stop in if you need a getaway from Apia, or you could stop in during a drive through Cross Island Road.
  • A must do. Beautiful re-built space after the original burnt to the ground. Absolutely fabulous views of Apia harbor. Trees and gardens alive with birds, which is unusual for Apia. Have the mixed vegetarian curry plate made with locally grown foods. Good pottery for sale, but the art is so-so. Friendly owners.
