The undisputed symbol of the city, Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a World Heritage Site that astonishes visitors with its sheer height and intricacy of design. This impressive church was designed by one of Spain’s renowned architects, Antoni Gaudí. Though Gaudí produced some of the country’s most inspiring buildings, this church is his most famous work. This masterpiece in the very heart of the city, featuring Gothic and Art Nouveau elements, is 95 m (312 ft) long and 60 m (197 ft) wide, with a seating capacity of 13,000. The central tower rises 170 m (558 ft) above the transept, with 17 other towers of 100 m (328 ft) or more. Visitors have access to the nave, crypt, museum, shop, and two towers. To avoid long lines, book tickets online. Put Basilica of the Sagrada Familia on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Barcelona attractions app .

  • Magical! I've seen plenty of churches all over the world and there is literally nothing like the Sagrada Familia anywhere else. Seeing Gaudi's vision come to life is an amazing experience. You could s...  more »
  • It's really impressive when they are inside by first look. We perform the guided tour first thing in the morning. The information you provided us with our guide was very interesting. Super recommended! NOT TO BE MISSED

  • An amazing architectural feat! There is so much to see and learn about this magnificent structure. Book your tour in advanced if you want to go for the tower visit. Tower or not you can take the self, self guided or guided tour inside. Enjoy souvenir stalls and food stalls outside the main gate. Accessible by Metro or Bus (stations just around the corner). Go during sunlight to see the tinted glass reflections inside and try and catch it at night from the outside to see it through spotlights.
  • The building is magnificent. The Gothic exterior near the entrance (nativity facade) is such a work of art. The different architectural design is something to be appreciated. The interior is not disappointing too, with its nature theme. Definitely go during the afternoon when there are strong sunlight to see the glow of the colored glass windows. They are beautiful. The towers were under construction when I was there but it looked like it would have been awesome to be able to go up. My only beef with this place is the price of the tickets. It's rather costly to enter.
