Once the last Islamic stronghold in Europe, Alhambra reflects the splendor of the Moorish civilization in Spain, and offers visitors a chance to see exquisite ornamental architecture, lush gardens, cascading water features, and panoramic views of Granada. This complex was once a palace, citadel, fortress, and the home of the Nasrid sultans, high government officials and servants of the court. Within the medieval complex of structures you can also explore other prominent buildings belonging to different time periods, including the palace of Carlos V, noted for housing a museum of fine art. To avoid disappointment, be sure to book tickets at least a few days in advance by phone or online. Beautiful citadel and fortress, and rich with history. There are no words that could do justice to the intricate and majectic Islamic architecture that the Alhambra boasts. more »

This was an absolute highlight of our trip to Spain. We spent most of the day here and left with sensory overload. It’s the most beautiful complex – a collection of Moorish palaces, hidden alcoves... more »

Definitely a must. Was so much history in the place. The staff are really friendly. They start queuing 30 minutes before you entrance time. Can be a like 2 hours for you to get in. It's worth going to the last two sites together and the first one before hand. Good services for food around and drinks and clean facilities. They not as strict as every making out but they won't let you in if you pass your time. Loved the history and culture definitely worth doing.

One of the most lovely landmarks you can see in Europe. A perfect blend of Christian and Muslim along centuries of intense history. It's strongly recommended to book a guided tour at the official website. You will spend 3 hours of very interesting facts and a way to properly enjoy this wonder. The gardens inside are also a must see. No words to describe it. Better see it yourself but be ready: It is not recommended for people with limited mobility. Try to avoid holiday season having the best experience
