  • The Maria Luisa Park is a treasure to discover and live, with the benches covered with azulejos, the cadenced sound of the water of the fountains, enchanted corners, details of arts and literary works, the pond with ducks and swans, the Fountain of the Lions with its four felines throwing water into an octagonal pond from which to observe the parrots in the park. The park's wide boulevards enriched with flower beds, rose gardens, hedges, monuments, statues dedicated to famous artists such as Cervantes and Becquer, and multiple types of trees from palm trees to elms to cedars to acacias and oranges from every corner of the world. Whatever the reason, curiosity, discovery, a simple reading or a walk or a run, it is worth diving in this wonderful park. Made by the gardener Lecolant around 1849 at the express request of the Duke of Montpellier after the purchase of the Palace of San Telmo, it was originally his royal garden. Of 34 hectares, it respected the building and aesthetic standards of the time: the classic English garden with perfect and tidy lines. In 1893 part of it was donated to the city by Maria Luisa Fernanda of Bourbon Duchess of Montpensier. The transformation of the gardens took place during preparations for the Ibero-American Universal Exhibition of 1929 when the engineer French Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier, curator of the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, was called. Inspired by romance............

  • This is the best park in Seville! It is beautiful, full of greenery and flowers, as well as peaceful. I love to come here and relax, but I love to take photos here also. My clients love the background of this park in their photos. It is truly beautiful!
