Hangebrucke, Zermatt

#30 of 83 in Things to do in Zermatt
Bridge · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Soaring above a gorge, Hangebrucke offers spectacular views over the foaming river and idyllic mountain landscape of rocks, valleys, and larch woods. Crossing the wobbly 100 m (328 ft) long and 90 m (295 ft) high suspension bridge can be both fun and scary, especially for those with a fear of heights. Once on the other side, consider having a picnic at one of the nearby barbecue sites or visit the Dossen glacier garden and see glacial mills. The bridge is generally closed in the winter. • 100 % safe but you need some guts to walk this bridge. When you master this challenge you can expect very nice views and deep satisfaction.  more »
  • Amazing experience. My wife was petrified of heights and still did this bridge. It's safe and has great views. The whole area is lovely here. Highly recommend.
  • Great view from the bridge - not too bouncy with only a few people on it!
