Admire the distinctive stained-glass windows designed by artist Marc Chagall at Fraumünster Church, a major landmark in the city's Old Town. Erected on the remains of a former Benedictine abbey for aristocratic city women, this 13th-century Gothic church features an eye-catching blue spire rising proudly over the city's skyline. In addition to Chagall's windows in the choir stalls and the southern transept, which depict various biblical stories, the church also boasts a 9 m (30 ft) tall stained glass by Swiss painter Augusto Giacometti. • TOP OF EUROPE. One of the highlights of a trip to Switzerland is the train trip to the Top of Europe. The Jungfrau Railway takes us to Europe's highest altitude railway station at 3500m approx. The final stage up is on a 108m lift, which makes the trip in 11 smooth seconds. The weather isn't the best at the very top but we do get glimpses of the terrain and get out for a few steps on the glacier.
  • Well worth the 5chf entrance fee. A deeply spiritual experience. Really enjoyed it.
