Head up the hillside and stand beneath Big Buddha Phuket, a 45 m (148 ft) statue watching over the surrounding landscape and settlements. Begun only a decade ago as a donation-funded project, the giant structure has come to encapsulate a sense of the spiritual and social character of Phuket. Offering extensive views of the surrounding area--and a peaceful break from the urban bustle--the statue's grounds serve as a popular meeting spot, a revered place of worship, and the endpoint of many hikes. The Big Buddha is a remarkable piece of architecture. It truly lives up to its name of 'Big'! There are many ways of getting there either through arranged tours or hiring a motorbike, just be careful of all the up hills! There are things to buy to give thanks towards the temple, such as small golden hearts to write messages on. It has free entry as well which is a bonus. The views are stunning. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it is just so quick to do. Not much else, you just turn up take photos of the Big Buddha and leave.

This was the best part of my visit. The view from top in enchanting and so is the magnificent huge Buddha sitting at the top of the hill, with blue sky at the backdrop. It kind of gives a feeling that no matter what the turmoil is their around you, peace can only be found and acquired by you if you want really want it. Our visit was around noon time, so we did not dare challenge the hill by trekking up, but rather caught a grab, who brought us right at the gates. Your dress needs to cover ones knee, and they offer free wrap around(do not know what the attire is called). The structure still seems to be under constructions, but nevertheless it is worth the visit here.
