Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Baldacchino di San Pietro, di Bernini and Monastero Di S.Benedetto will appeal to history buffs. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini and San Pietro in Vincoli. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Villa d'Este in Tivoli--about 48 minutes away. The adventure continues: explore the ancient world of Colosseum, steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill, get to know the fascinating history of Centro Storico Associazione Centro Storico, and make a trip to Piazza Venezia.
