Zurich, Switzerland to Edinburgh is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Zurich to Edinburgh. Traveling from Zurich in July, expect Edinburgh to be little chillier, temps between 22°C and 12°C. Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Step off the beaten path and head to Highland Titles Nature Reserve and MacIntosh Parish Church. Get out of town with these interesting Fort William side-trips: Lost Valley Trail (in Glencoe Village), Morar Beach (in Morar) and Camusdarach Beach (in Arisaig). There's lots more to do: trek along West Highland Way, appreciate the history behind Peace Memorial, delve into the lush surroundings at Signal Rock and An Torr, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Andrew's Church.
