Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
Take a break from the city and head to Island of Lokrum and Sveti Jakov Beach. Step off the beaten path and head to Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola and Zarkovica Animal Shelter. Step out of Dubrovnik with an excursion to Cavtat Cemetery in Cavtat--about 34 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: wander the streets of Old Town, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Saint Blaise, explore the galleries of Art by Stjepko, and contemplate the long history of The Franciscan Church and Monastery.
