Akureyri

Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Mon): race across the water with a speed boat tour. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: admire the natural beauty at Arctic Botanical Gardens (Lystigardurinn) and then take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback.

Stockholm, Sweden to Akureyri is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus, ferry, and car. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Stockholm to Akureyri due to the time zone difference. In June, Akureyri is slightly colder than Stockholm - with highs of 15°C and lows of 7°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Tue) early enough to go by car to Reykjahlid.

Get in touch with nature at Mt. Namafjall (Namaskard) and Krafla Lava Fields. Explore hidden gems such as The Húsavík Whale Museum and Hverfjall. Hvolsvöllur is a small town in the south of Iceland about 106 km to the east of Reykjavík.It is situated in the inland swamps of Landeyjar, in the municipality of Rangárþing eystra and has, as of January 2015, 934 inhabitants.OverviewThe name of the town literally translates to "Hillfield". Do a combination of flight and bus from Reykjahlid to Hvolsvollur in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. While traveling from Reykjahlid, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Hvolsvollur, ranging from highs of 12°C to lows of 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sat) so you can drive to Vik.
