Head to Hauptmarkt and K in Lauternfor some retail therapy. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Porta Nigra and Reichsburg Cochem. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Trier: Romische Langmauer (in Herforst), Koblenz (Deutsches Eck (German Corner) & Ehrenbreitstein Fortress) and Monument Geschiedenis Cochem (in Cochem). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Marksburg, look for all kinds of wild species at Naturwildpark Freisen, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Peter's Cathedral (Dom), and explore the historical opulence of Eltz Castle.
