Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): admire the striking features of St. John's Co-Cathedral, stop by Ellul Wines E Spirits, and then explore the fascinating underground world of Blue Grotto (Il-Hnejja).

Cairo, Egypt to Valletta is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time to Central European Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Get a sense of the local culture at Piazza San Marco and Arena di Verona. Your inner history buff will appreciate Doge's Palace and Scrovegni Chapel. Explore Venice's surroundings by going to Verona (Quinzano, Piazza delle Erbe, & more). There's still lots to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande, explore the world behind art at Peggy Guggenheim Collection, contemplate the long history of Ponte dei Sospiri, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chiesa San Lazzaro dei Mendicanti.

Fly from Valletta to Venice in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry, bus, and flight. Traveling from Valletta in January, things will get little chillier in Venice: highs are around 9°C and lows about 0°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Mon) early enough to travel to Berlin.

One of Poland's oldest cities, Krakow sits at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, its historical town center nestled on the left bank of the Vistula River.
Get outdoors at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Gubalowka. Get a sense of the local culture at Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) and Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau.
