Mumbai, India to Tokyo is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of car and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 3 hours traveling from Mumbai to Tokyo. Traveling from Mumbai in May, expect Tokyo to be little chillier, temps between 28°C and 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Thu) early enough to catch the train to Kanazawa.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Kanazawa takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. Traveling from Tokyo in May, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be little chillier in Kanazawa, with lows of 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.

Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Nijo Castle as well as Nishiki Market Shopping District.
