Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Get out of town with these interesting Fort William side-trips: Morar Beach (in Morar), Camusdarach Beach (in Arisaig) and Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror). And it doesn't end there: admire the sheer force of Steall Waterfall, contemplate the long history of Fort Augustus Abbey, admire the verdant scenery at Glen Coe, and appreciate the history behind Commando Monument.

Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Change things up with these side-trips from Durness: Kinlochbervie (Sandwood Bay Beach & Oldshoremore Beach) and Handa Island Wildlife Reserve (in Handa Island).
