Built from the ground up after the Korean War, Pyongyang impresses with its Soviet-era buildings and monuments to modern leadership.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Mansudae Art Studio Gallery and Korean Department Store in Pyongyang. Get some historical perspective at Former Residence of Mangyongdae and Koguryo Tombs. Change things up with a short trip to Chongsan-ri Cooperative Farm in Nampo (about 1h 35 min away). There's much more to do: brush up on your military savvy at Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, don't miss a visit to Geumsusan Memorial Palace, appreciate the history behind Arch of Reunification, and tee off at Pyongyang Golf Course.

Before you visit Pyongyang, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

If you are flying in from Russia, the closest major airport is Pyongyang Sunan International Airport. You will leave for home on the 13th (Thu).
