Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Step out of the city life by going to English Garden and Strandbad St. Alban. Popular historic sites such as Nymphenburg Palace and St. Peter's Church are in your itinerary. Change things up with a short trip to Schloss Neuschwanstein in Schwangau (about 1h 40 min away). There's much more to do: hunt for treasures at Viktualienmarkt, kick back and relax at Roberto Beach, make a trip to Marienplatz, and get to know the fascinating history of Haidhausen.
