Reading is a large, historically important town in Berkshire, England, of which it is the county town. Discover out-of-the-way places like West Kennet Long Barrow and Silchester Roman City Walls and Amphitheatre. Parish Church of St John Baptist and Silbury Hill will appeal to history buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Chavenage House (in Tetbury) and Malmesbury Abbey (in Malmesbury). Do some cultural sightseeing at Chilham Village and Smallhythe Place. Discover out-of-the-way places like Richborough Roman Fort and Amphitheatre and Christ Church Gate. Venture out of the city with trips to Minster Abbey (in Minster) and St. Thomas the Martyr (in Winchelsea).
