Church of St. James reviews
This is a lovely church in the beautiful historic village of Avebury Wiltshire. It dates back to around 1000 AD,it has late Saxon circular windows and was altered by the Normans in the 12th century with the early Norman carved font one of the attractions to look at in this interesting little church. It can be found in Church Walk Avebury very close to Avebury Manor another one of the many places to explore in this world heritage site, with the ancient stone circle, museums cafes and shops it’s a great place to look around.👍
Visited the church on the day when were Avebury and around the circles. As far as I know that is not national trust place, so independently maintained. The tree was inside with lovely notes is really unique and very nice. (pictures show) Because the whole village is not too big, when we walked around the circle, it worth to have a look at the manor, the church and the museums, too.
