History and fine dining come together at Belfast Castle, which holds a prominent position 120 m (400 ft) above sea level and provides panoramic views of the city of Belfast and Belfast Lough. Dating back to 1870, the castle was designed in the Scottish baronial style by architect Charles Lanyon. One of the area’s most popular wedding reception venues, the castle includes a well-stocked antiques shop and an informative visitor center. The castle’s restaurant serves meals for all tastes, from light snacks to gourmet evening meals, prepared using only the freshest and finest local produce. When you visit the castle, don’t miss a chance to photograph the iconic Napoleon’s Nose, a basalt outcrop believed to have inspired Jonathan Swift’s novel "Gulliver's Travels." Beautiful building with a nice garden, where you can have a drink (and food??). However the access inside was restricted when I visited it. You have good views of the city but nothing impressive. If you're looking for a view point better carry on walking to the top of the hill. Parking at the door if you're driving and also easy to get there using public transport, you only have to walk around 10min.
Amazing view and place. Only issue was the renovation of the castle, so I couldn't visit. The tavern serve good food. Definitely worth it.
