#1 of 13 in Parks in Pitlochry
Included as part of Cairngorms National Park at the request of the people of the town, the castle and gardens rest at the confluence of the Tilt and Garry Rivers among the Grampian Mountains. The beauty of the area, and its location on the rivers, attracted wealthy landowners over the past few centuries. Consequently, the area is dotted with estates, including Blair Castle and Hercules Gardens, one of Scotland's most notable stately homes. This castle is home to the Duke of Atholl, the only duke in the UK who is allowed to raise his own army. The army, known as the Atholl Highlanders, conducts social and ceremonial events on the castle grounds. Visit over 30 perfectly preserved rooms and the restored gardens for one ticket fee. An on-site restaurant will help you keep your strength up during the epic tour. Plan your visit to Blair Castle and Hercules Gardens and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Pitlochry trip planning tool.

  • Not really worth paying lots of money to see but if you are visiting the castle anyway it is a lovely extra. The garden was established more recently than many famous gardens and so is still in the process of maturing. It has come a long way in the last 10 years but still lacks colour except in the height of summer.
  • Very nice and well maintained garden.lush green grass and beautiful flowers.
