University of Cambridge, Cambridge

4.6
Admire architecture, landscaping, and education at its finest at University of Cambridge, the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world. The institution's 31 colleges and six schools sit fairly close to one another, but you'll often see students going to and from by bicycle. Of particular note is the Great Court of King's College, which features a sprawling green lawn and 16th-century perpendicular Gothic English architecture, as exemplified by the King's College chapel. The oldest colleges were founded in the 13th century, with the very oldest being Peterhouse, dating from 1284. The Cam River runs through the campus and is traversed by multiple bridges; cross over the Bridge of Sighs at St. John's College and the Mathematical Bridge at Queen's College, and keep your eye out for the resident swans. You are free to wander the grounds, but be aware that some colleges charge an entrance fee and access may be limited during the school term. • Due to lack of time we could only see from the outside, from the Park. Already so gives a atmosphere of antiquity and tradition ...

  • The wind is very good, the school is very big, like that bridge, but a lot of places can not go in, because of the relationship between students, but walk in the mood is also very good, push recommended.

  • Amazing place. I hope to study here one day whether it be in 3 years or 20 years time. This place is part of British and world history through and through. Even for a visit, I would recommend due to the amazing scenery and historic feel of the city. It's not like you'll ever get bored however, as the city is packed with shops, quite literally having every brand you could think of. Also, if you're a fan of Chinese cuisine, you will love it here, with the outskirts packed with Chinese takeaways.
  • beautiful place in every season. Visited it again after so many years away and the place is as breathtaking as ever. Go for the punt, it makes the trip worth it.
