  • Opening time was listed as 9am but at 9.40am it wasn't open so thought it must be closed permanently. However walked past later and found it open! A handy guide to follow. We didn't do a tour. More.....  more »
  • This was built with hand, no power tools, no fancy materials. Wonderful how they built these buildings.  more »

  • It is one of our favourite places to worship. We love the atmosphere and are drawn to call in whenever we are going near the area. It is one of the oldest churches in the North of England. There are stained glass windows, sculptures and decorative choir stalls. A beautiful religious experience.
  • Worth a visit. The choir stalls are superb and this thoroughly interesting old church is well served by a good quality gift shop selling books and trinkets. The unusual building makes this church important nationally. I recommend it. Nearby, the village offers food, drink and lavatories.
