The The White Cliffs of Dover represent the most famous facet of the English coastline due to their proximity to Continental Europe, striking appearance, and role in forming a symbolic barrier to invasion. Bask in the view that for hundreds of years served as the first or last sight of England for travellers heading to or from Europe. If it’s a clear day, you can even view France from on top of the cliffs. Walk on one of the clearly marked paths or simply sit and watch the bustling port of Dover. If you want to seek shelter from the marine winds, browse the gift shop or enjoy a cup of tea in the cafe. Sturdy shoes are recommended for rambling on top of the cliffs as the chalk, to which the cliffs owe their white appearance, can become slippery if wet. A very famous English landmark which is connected to being British and English. As I walked at this famous song I was listening to the famous song by Vera Lynn with the very same name as this place. I even brought a white rock home which I wrapped in plastic to preserve the fragile stone
So beautiful. Highly recommended and a must see if you were in Dover. There’s parking down the road and you walk along the trail. There are multiple variations of the trail aside from the main path, some of these are moderately advanced and run closer to the Cliffs. Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash.
