For a weirdly wonderful and unique view of Edinburgh, head to Camera Obscura and World of Illusions. The camera obscura itself sits in the roof and features a set of mirrors and lenses that project moving images of the city onto a screen. You'll be able to pick up projected pedestrians in your hands and redirect traffic over paper bridges. The guide narrates an entertaining history of Edinburgh while you experiment. Throughout the rest of the building, you can observe and play with all sorts of other optical tricks. Your entrance fee enables you to come and go as you want throughout the day, and you can return the next day for free if there more exhibits you want to see. Put Camera Obscura and World of Illusions and other Edinburgh attractions into our Edinburgh trip itinerary planning site, and watch your holiday take shape.

This place is awesome, the highlight of my trip to Edinburgh. Lots of things to do and you get a great 360 view of the city too. Would recommend to anybody. Attractions inside include optical illusions, funky mirrors, mirror mazes, interactive games and much much more. I think there's around 5 floors in total. You also get to go out to the roof and get a good outside view of the city which is great for photos. Then of course, you get to use the Camera Obscura too - the staff who give demonstrations are really helpful. If you're in Edinburgh, 100% you should go.
This place is absolutely amazing. It was my first visit to Edinburgh and this was among the top things to-do for me in the city. A lot of great illusions are put up and its fun to be there in any company at this place. Due to my last minute booking, I was not able to get hold of the special show/exhibition, which you need to book in advance as there are limited seats. On the top floor, one gets a pretty cool view of the city. It has a shop where you can check out some cool stuff. Go for it! Cheers
