  • This memorial commemorates King Edward VII of United Kingdom, the great-grandfather of the current British Monarch, Elizabeth II. While he did not reign for long, he was a highly skilled diplomat and earned the nickname “Edward the Peacemaker.”. The equestrian statue is cast from bronze and depicts the king wearing his Field Marshal uniform. The horse has its front left leg raised. Excellent detail in the saddle, stirrups and associated "leather work". The statue stands prominently on Waterloo place, standing at over 3 Metres high on top of the magnificent stone pedestal.
  • Equestrian statue competed in 1921 beside the Athenaeum Club facing towards the Crimean War Memorial and surrounded by an assorted company of notables. Here, among the Empire illustrious and eminent, the heartland of Nash's Imperial London still chimes with a waning echo of grandeur.
