Home to gorgeous equines and stately guards, Horse Guards serves as the perfect spot to soak up some English pomp and royal history. The 17th-century Palladian-style structure marks the formal entrance to St. James' Palace, and only the country's monarch or those with a special pass can drive through its central archway. Stoic guards atop their horses keep watch at the entrance, providing one of London's best photo opportunities. If you're lucky, you may get to see the changing of the guards on the adjoining parade ground. Inside the structure is, appropriately, the Household Cavalry Museum. Horse Guards Reviews
This is very impressive, and I would highly recommend it, as you get to see the guards and the horses if you come before 4 PM. more »

And this building is built in the Palladian style with a clock tower in the historic center of London in front of The Horse-Guard Place. The first building was built here in 1664 on the site where jousting tournaments were held at Whitehall Palace. The structure was later dismantled. This building was designed by the English architect William Kent in 1753. Now it houses the command of the London Military District and the Palace Cavalry. That's the way it is.
If you get the right time of day you can see the Horse Guards being changed. A proper bit of military ritual. There's usually a bit of a crowd, so make sure to get there early if you want a good view.
Fantastic photo opportunity to capture some true British architecture. This is an accessible location in close proximity to Buckingham Palace and a number of other key sites. You can either access this from the from the Household Division Charity or St James Park. I would highly recommend you access it from the St James park side, where it is less crowded and offers a lot more room to move around.
