Queen Mary's Gardens, London

#27 of 186 in Parks in London
One of London's quietest and greenest corners, Queen Mary's Gardens contains the city's largest rose collection, boasting over 12,000 roses. Nearly 100 neat beds display dozens of varieties, from classic to modern. Part of a 166 hectare (410 acre) park in the northwestern section of London, the gardens also contain nearly 9,000 begonias. Named after the wife of King George V and completed in 1934, the gardens lure visitors with their rich scents and colorful blossoms. Early summer is considered the best time to see the gardens, when most of the plants are in full bloom. • This garden in Regent's Park is home to beautiful rose gardens with many varieties of roses. Each flowerflower is numbered and bears the name of the roses it houses. Beautiful atmosphere pleasant and attention to detail. Of course, the best is to visit it during peak flowering periods. At the end of June, we found some withered roses.

  • We were here in June and the roses bloomed wonderfully. The Rose Garden is located in Regents Park and does not cost admission. Attention, but it is only open until 5.30 p.m.

  • Amazing garden inside Regents Park, this is my number one in London to visit. I can go there over and over again and still not bored. The best time to visit is the middle of May to mid June as the roses are bumming around that time of the year. But even in the spring is beatiful with all trees in flower. If you want a chill and relaxed time is a must to visit The Queen Mary's Garden. Just wonderful !
  • Set in the inner circle of the Regent's Park this rose garden is always a pleasure to visit. Granted the pleasure is greater in the summer when all the roses are in full bloom but it still merits a visit in winter. If you fancy a quiet relaxing stroll in a pleasant park setting in the middle of London this is the place to visit. In summer the sights and of course the smell of the various roses can leave you feeling not only relaxed but rejuvenated. There is another plus to a visit to Queen Mary's Rose Garden which is that in a relatively small area you have a vast selection of roses and the opportunity to finally put a name to the ones that you really like. If you like roses this garden is great if you are indifferent to them it is still a great place to visit and to either sit on a bench or sit on the grass and watch the world go by.
