Regent's Canal, London

4.4
#2 of 15 in Nature in London
Built in 1801, Regent's Canal links the Paddington Arm of the Grand Junction Canal with the River Thames in East London. Take a boat trip and travel leisurely from Little Venice to Camden Market (or vice versa), with stops in Regent's Park and the London Zoo, or walk the paths lining the picturesque canals by foot. Notice three historical canal tunnels that you pass through on your way. Boats leave regularly and are provided by several different companies. • Looks like a small Venise. It is a long canal whereby you can walk run or even do all kind of sport. Nearby it is the zoo. The place is so green and calm and beautiful .. you can spend easily an hour ...  more »
  • London not only has the Thames, but is crisscrossed by a network of mostly navigable canals, which have an unmissable charm. The Regent's is ridof by house boats, many of which (really picturesque) are moored saddles on its shores. The locks are hand-operated by the crew itself, and it's a sight if you happen to see it. Nice walk, to do

  • A nice canal in London running through Regent's Park. The towpath provides an excellent opportunity for a stroll or a run away from the city traffic. There are many eclectic canal boats floating on and moored along the canal and some interesting sights that cannot be seen elsewhere.
  • Lovely place to walk and admire the views
