Theatre Royal Stratford East Reviews
Been to this theatre and love it here. Right in the heart of the town centre it has its own charm. It has a great bar and restaurant. Whilst waiting for my friends I met people in a local choir who..... more »
We were at the opening of the theatre's IVK (Island Vibez Kitchen) Stratford east food event! Buzzing atmosphere, music and wonderful tastes of Trinidadian food. We tried the jerk chicken, chicken... more »
Gorgeous theatre situated just a stones throw from Stratford Station - either walk through the 'old' Stratford Shopping Centre and take the left exit or walk round the outside of the shopping centre by taking a left before the doors (my choice). This theatre is as grand and beautiful as any in the West End (I love looking at the ceiling) but is relatively smaller at just under 500 seats, on 3 levels, which ensures a good view from any seat. The pricing structure here is fantastic, tickets can be nabbed for 10 pounds if you book early enough, and rarely will you pay over 32 pounds for the best seats. That's not to say this is a community theatre putting on community productions, this place regularly puts on some of the best shows to be seen in London, attracting fantastic reviews from the national press. There's a bar and great restaurant too, with main meals for under a tenner. Well worth the short journey out of the West End.
I was actually in the MEZA EAST bar for a reggae evening with a very good DJ. knows his music. Good atmosphere. Drinks prices are affordable. Next time will try their jerk meals. Staff is nice and helpful, full of smiles. Wish they would create a small permanent dancing floor. Can't wait for the next session.
