  • Always fancied an ice-climb - don’t know why?!! I’m a more mature lady and attended on my own. Ronan was brilliant. He made me feel safe and encouraged me and took some fab photos on my phone for me.....  more »

  • Great ice climbing training facility. Unlike indoor rock climbing, which isn't much like climbing real rock, the indoor ice wall is very similar to climbing real ice outdoors, so it's ideal training for the winter season. The wall is not that tall, but because you get your own belayer you can do multiple laps at a time to simulate climbing a longer pitch. I've done close to 10 sessions now and all the instructors I've worked with so far have been friendly and knowledgeable. The price for an 1 hour session (£35) might seem a bit steep at first glance, but when you consider everything you're actually paying for (Central London location, huge freezer to keep the ice nice and cool, your own personal belayer, climbing kit/warm clothing if you don't have your own, insurance etc.) it's actually very reasonable. Plus, if you get a loyalty card and do 4 sessions, the 5th one is free, which is a nice bonus. To conclude, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vertical Chill London to anyone interested in trying ice climbing or who wants to train for winter climbing year long.
  • I recently did this experience and was really happy with it, it was more fun than i expected; when i first arrived i was quite nervous and scared but James who was my instructor was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease.all the staff who i saw that day were very friendly and welcoming. Im not very good at heights/ facing my fears but this experience definately helped me to break away from my comfort zone. It was very professional and very safe. There is a number of different levels of difficulty to go through so it will push you to how far you want to go with it. I think the price was very reasonable too, the level of tuition combined with the expert equipment which you could tell was maintained very well i think it was worth it. Thanks again guys :) already recommended you to other people!
