At Victoria and Albert Museum, see the world's largest decorative arts and design collection. The museum's 145 galleries span 51,000 sq m (12.5 acres), so you won't be able to see it all in a single visit. Look over a floor plan and decide which rooms interest you the most. You have 5,000 years worth of art to choose from, including ceramics, glass, textiles, ironwork, sculptures, furniture, photographs, and more, from all parts of the world. At 80,000 objects, the ceramics collection is the world's largest and features pieces by famous potters such as William De Morgan and Bernard Leach. In the British galleries, keep an eye out for Henry VIII's writing desk, which dates to 1525. The jewelry collection includes an emerald necklace that Napoleon gave to his adopted daughter, Hortense de Beauharnais, in 1806. 빅토리아앤알버트박물관은 자연사박물관과 과학박물관 근처라서 3개를 돌며 박물관 투어하기 좋다. 한국관이 따로 있고 현대적인 작품이 많은 편. 카페에서 파는 스콘이랑 차는 정말 강추!! more »The Victoria & Albert Museum is near the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum, so it's a great place to tour the museum in three tours. It's a great place to stay.
The exhibition was fantastic and so well worth the £20 fee. Beautifully curated and despite being quite crowded, it did not spoil our enjoyment. What a treat! Extraordinary Dior What an amazing experience. Dresses and hats are exquisite. Everything presented in the most dramatic way, as befits the clothes. The final rotating ballroom scene (with seats to rest your weary legs as the exhibition goes past you and constantly changing lighting and background) is dazzling.
A fantastic variety of items and exhibits, thoughtfully and interestingly laid out. Can be a bit confusing finding one's way around, but with every room a wonder in itself and some really outstanding pieces off the main route, it's worth getting a bit lost! A fascinating place to spend a full day if you have the time.
