It is a museum designed to learn about the history of the city of Manchester and, in general, the industrial revolution. Let's see how all this historic moment was forged. And it also has funny little ones for kids that they will be able to enjoy a lot. ...... and it's free like almost every museum in England. I went on a Sunday and saw the parents with their children walking around like it was a sunny day and park. You don't see that in Spain, and you have to admit it. Reasons to complain? None. Rather, it is a healthy envy that I feel for the culture in these countries.

Excellent place for grown ups or children to spend an afternoon. They have maps at the front and its worth picking up a map. Lots of it is interactive which makes learning more fun. They also have talks and demonstrations which are excellent. The cafe did standard cafe food and coffee. The gift shop is really good if you need to buy science based presents.
Definitely worth a visit. Amazing industrial machines for show with constant clear explanation rounds and demonstrations. The air and space hall was closed for maintenance during our visit. Through the windows from the outside it looked to be impressive however. Great museum with something of interest for all ages. No entry fee (optional donation).
