Gulliver's Kingdom, Matlock Bath

#3 of 64 in Things to do in Matlock
Theme Park · Water / Amusement Park
Spend time with your young children at Gulliver's Kingdom, an amusement park located on a steep wooded hill, with many rides nestled amongst the trees. While waiting in line for rides, enjoy the view of Starkholmes and the Heights of Abraham. However, take note of the workout the hilly grounds will require, as it may not be suitable to the mobility-impaired. However, it is possible to catch the chairlift to the top of the hill and work your way down. Plan my Matlock trip by asking Inpirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

  • We spent £300 on a 2 night break here and stayed on Halloween, the park opening times were ridiculous, 2:30pm -7:30pm, the first day was fine because we could stay in our hotel room but the second...  more »

  • This theme park is fantastic for families with young children. I have a 7 and 11 year old and they were able to go on all the rides. The prices for food and drinks when compared to other theme parks is actually quite good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As for the atmosphere, as people here were all families with young children, parents and grandparents (didn't see any teenagers or groups of young adults) it was really nice and pleasant. If you have a young family I can't recommend Gulliver's enough
  • Lot of parking spaces from top to bottom. Staff were outside to help everyone to park. Opening time was 10:30 and we reached there 10:28 , there were 500+ people already inside the kingdom. There was not a single ride where people were not waiting. Queues were everywhere. There are lot of hills and sharp turn. Parents with kids in push chairs must bring energy drinks with them to walk around. Welfare facilities are everywhere from top to bottom. Which is very good thing. There were some rides which were not in use or no one there to operate them. Overall all of us enjoyed it. Staff was amazing and helpful:)
