  • On a hot July day we did the circular walk from Rye Harbour to Winchelsea Beach and return. Probably 6-7 miles but well worth it - there are shorter variations of the walk well designated. The new vis...  more »
  • Easy to find with a large free car park near the entrance. Good hide within a short walk with lots to see. Although an overcast day on my visit we had opportunities to photograph Avocets with young.  more »

  • Try to get away from the busy section near the car park (besides the River Rother, overlooking Camber Sands). Along the seafront it becomes increasingly wild and deserted. You can walk along the shingle, which is really hard work, or along a parallel road, which is below the sea bank so you can't see the sea. We followed a guided walk that initially took us along a small, inland lane and then cut across to the coast. Worked well and gave a flavour of the different landscapes.
  • Great place for a walk. Bird watching dog walk or cycling. Easy access to the sea. Could prob do with line down middle of main tar mac drag so bikes and pedestrians have own side as can be a bit dangerous when busy
